Letter to the Editor: What is happening to our nation?

I listen. I watch. I read. I worry. What is happening to our nation?

I just saw President Obama appear, and I underscore appear, as it might have been the angle of the camera, to bow as he shook hands with Raul Castro.

We have Obamacare being forced upon the nation. We have negotiations with Iran that do not benefit anyone but Iran. We insult Israel.

There is a woman being considered for a run for our next President who shouts in testimony, “What difference does it make?” We have open borders north and south. We have an estimated 12-million illegal immigrants in the U.S. We have a President, who spends our tax dollars flying around the country, attempting to sell his propaganda on his agenda and at the same time fundraising. And, who are all of those people lined up behind him that nod in agreement?

The press cannot get their names. Is this a transparent administration? This same man also conceals his educational records. As an American citizen, shouldn”t he be proud of his attendance and grades at our colleges, or is it because he attended some of our schools as a foreign student?

Sure wish all of this would come out in the open.

We have Muslim Sharia Law creeping into court decisions. Reported to be at least 50 cases. Does President Obama, his staff and his appointees really believe in the U.S. Constitution?

We have a national debt with a considerable amount owed to China.

You have probably noted that the vice-president did not do a good job of reconciliation on his recent trip to China.

Of course, there are also our problems with North Korea.

We are reducing our military, while spying on individuals. We have lost the respect of countries that were once our friends. With our economy in the tank, no space program, and scandals in Washington, what is there that we can really be proud of?

Heads of families know that they cannot spend more than their income without dire problems.

Why is it that our heads-of-state do not realize they cannot do it?

We are seeing more and more government take-over resulting in more and more people receiving government subsidies. We are becoming a nation with more people receiving payouts than people paying in. How long can it last?

Businesses are afraid of expansion due to the enormous amount of regulations they must submit to.

Yes, you can say I have been rambling. I have always said that one person can make a difference. We are at the point that it is going to take many people to make a difference. Unless many people listen, watch and read and then take action, we are going to be a people heavily dependent on government subsidies. Socialism or what term will best fit? Free stuff isn”t free. Someone pays. What did it cost you in 2013 and what will the price be in 2014? What is happening to our nation?
