UPPER LAKE — The Upper Lake Community United Methodist Church holds a traditional Christmas Eve Candlelight service at 7 p.m. tonight.
The service is open to everyone.
The Chancel choir, directed by Nick Reid and accompanied by pianist Michelle Wells Trigger leads the celebration of the Holy Night.
Pastor Wanda Celli”s meditation is followed by candle-lighting.
A goodwill offering basket will be available. All funds collected will go to the Shoes for Schoolchildren program.
Future services are as follows:
Sunday service at 11 a.m.; Jan. 5, Epiphany Sunday service at 11 a.m.; Feb. 16. Black History Celebration potluck at 1 p.m., followed by a service of Black History and gospel song at 3 p.m.; March 5, prayer vigil from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. followed by Ash Wednesday service and the disposition of ashes at 7 p.m.; March 9 to April 6 Lent; April 13 Palm Sunday worship service at 11 a.m.; April 17 Maundy Thursday (Holy Thursday) 7 p.m. service; April 18 Good Friday service; April 20 Easter Sunrise Service and regular Easter Day service at 11 a.m.
The church motto is “Open hearts, open minds, open doors.” All are welcome to any of the special services listed above or regular Sunday worship service held at 11 a.m.
The church is located on the corner of First Street and Clover Valley Road in Upper Lake.
