MIDDLETOWN?– Lake County author JoAnn Saccato will present a two-hour course based on her recently released book,?”Companioning the Sacred Journey: A Guide to Creating a Compassionate Container for Your Spiritual Practice”?Friday.
?
The mini-course will mirror Saccato”s introductory course, which begins Jan. 7?and focuses on journaling, affirmations and mindfulness of body and mind as the foundations to creating a sustained, compassionate and transformational spiritual practice.
Saccato plans to share how she came to write the book and the profundity her life-path took upon incorporating simple spiritual practices into her life.?

“Participants will learn how journaling can begin to create a safe container and companionship for a deeper inquiry into life,” Saccato said. “We will also consider how affirmations (carefully crafted intentions) can be used to mindfully create a more authentically fulfilling life.”
“We”ll also explore awareness of our body, thoughts and emotions through gentle energy work and mindfulness meditation,” she continued.
The course will be held at Harbin Hot Springs in Middletown from?2 to 4 p.m. at the Temple. The event is free-of-charge but attendees must be registered as a Harbin guest.
