Here we go again. Ellen Karnowski writes in about the bane of GMO products.

Almost everything you eat today has been genetically modified, period!

All chemicals used are reported to your local Ag Commissioner and compiled by the state so we follow what was used. How do I know? I used to have to file the reports when I used them because I was in farming for over 30 years!

By using roundup ready products, you decrease the use of many chemical products.

I can skew information to show eating carrots can cause Lou Gehrigs Disease, malformed sperm, and non-hodgkins lymphoma. Its been done before, and it will be done again.

No matter what I say, it won”t change your mind, because you believe in conspiracy theories, not true science. And the Internet is full of conspiracy theories.

As I have stated before, science not myths prove, we started with approximately six tomato varieties way back when.

Now there are more than 7,500 different varieties, all genetically modified to help us feed the world, which in my book is really important (i.e. no food, no life).

What really makes me laugh is the term heirloom tomatoes. To me those are the ones that, God forbid, were genetically modified, but were not commercially viable. Just give it a fancy name to make it sell at a higher price, kind of like shopping at Nieman Marcus instead of at Kmart.

(“realsville anyone?”).

Here in the good old USA we have the cleanest Ag products in the world and, oh by the way, the most over-regulated. Thanks in part due to conspiracy theories.

I distinctly remember the Alar scare, promoted by The 60 Minutes TV program. Just to find out Alar is a natural product produced by the apple itself ? 60 Minutes almost ruined the apple industry over a myth. And at which time I quit watching the program.

Lie to me once ? your fault, lie to me twice ? my fault. And don”t get me started on the millions of dollars spent on lawyers over this myth. Conspiracy theories anyone?

I once read an article that said if you lived and worked next to a freeway in L.A., you would inhale a whole tire in your lifetime.

I don”t know if this is true science. Could it be true, maybe, but I can”t prove it. Until I can, it is still in the maybe column.

God gave us a brain and now we know a little bit about genes.

Maybe someday we will be able to cure diseases before they occur, by genetically modifying our genes, would the outcry be the same.

Last but not least, genetically some people are pre-disposed to certain diseases and we will all die, sooner or later. Let us all concentrate on living now.

Life is too short, let us not dwell on negatives and conspiracy theories.
