Tuesday we were told that because Obama is unable to get his agenda through Congress that he will use executive orders to impose his agenda upon us.
This is not the first President to use Executive Orders and will not, and should not, be the last. There is a place for their use .
Obama ,however, has taken things to a new level by using EO”s to instruct agencies to ignore any law with which he does not agree thus, in effect, making new law.
Our Constitution provides for a separation of powers and Congress is the body charged with law making and the Executive with seeing that they are carried out.
If the Executive disagrees with a low passed by Congress the proper procedure is to submit changes to congress for consideration and possible modification.
The Founders did not make it easy to make or change laws on purpose as they thought it important that change be made only after careful consideration and debate.
We live in a Republic, not a Kingdom!
We elect members of Congress to make the laws; sometimes a slow and frustrating task, but one that should cause careful debate before any change is made.
Obama is frustrated by his inability to get what he wants from the Legislative Branch as have been many before him and many to come in the future; it is supposed to be that way.
For those who agree with what is going on remember that at some point power may pass to those you disagree with so it is in everyone”s interest to protect the rights of the minority,
Many have given their all to preserve our Constitution and our Republic it is up to us to see it continue.
