I have been following the debate in letters to the editor about whether God is a capitalist or a socialist.
Invoking God to validate one”s political or economic position is nothing new.
Throughout history people from the crusaders to the Taliban have been doing so.
Validating one position invalidates all others, anything in between is heresy.
If God is for one side, He must be against the other, there is no middle ground. In the end, somebody is bound to be both humbled and disappointed.
The truth is once you mix religion and politics, all you end up with is politics.
