I would like to correct Brenna Sullivan in a letter she wrote to the Editor, as she incorrectly stated that the California Vehicle code classifies bicycles as vehicles. Note VC section 670 where ?Vehicles” excludes ?…a device moved exclusively by human power…” That said, I would like to agree with everything else she states.
I am an avid bicyclist myself and believe I am totally responsible for my behavior where it concerns the safety of others.
Accidents do happen but this should not be used to excuse bad and dangerous behavior.
