Here”s something interesting I bet a lot of people didn”t know about and that I just found out about recently.

Since 2011 there has been a new protocol for our pets” vaccinations. You can read it online at www.gsnmc.com or google “New Vaccination Protocol.” This new protocol has been adopted by all the Veterinary schools in North America and it is agreed that a vaccine given after six months of age is good for the life of the animal. If another vaccine is given a year later, the antibodies from the first vaccine neutralize the antigens of the second vaccine and there is little or no effect. Vaccinations given two weeks apart suppress rather than stimulate. Of course they still need the three year rabies- that”s law.

This new protocol does present an ethical challenge to veterinarians and pet parents alike because everyone claims they love their pets and who would do anything to harm them? Indeed, that vaccines are good for life, why would we continue pumping dangerous chemicals into their little bodies and potentially causing diseases, especially cancer. If we do not vaccinate our children every year why vaccinate our pets and many people call their pets children or their kids.

Talking to some people this week about the new protocol, one couple said they lost a pet recently from injection site complications and another lady rejected the information saying she trusted her vet. That”s unfortunate unless she has an ethical vet because some vets push vaccinations solely for the income. Also, I read recently that because of possible injection site problems some vets were now vaccinating in the animals leg or tail and if there are problems they could just amputate the leg or tail. Is that right to just remove a body part for the sake of vaccinations and money? In my opinion, No. I guess we can no longer wonder where some of our pet”s diseases are coming from with over vaccinating.

In connection with this new protocol are three articles worth googling: “Analyzing New Vaccine recommendations” at www.dogs4dogs.com, “Four warnings from vaccine manufacturers – who is ignoring them?” at www.dogsnaturallymagazine.com, “Lifelong immunity – why vets are pushing back” at www.dogsnaturallymagazine.com. Also google vaccinosis in pets.

And finally, be sure to read the New Vaccination Protocol because some vaccines have been dropped and there are new recommendations for cats listed too.

We have to say “no” when it is necessary. We have to advocate for our animals who have no voice.

Speaking of “no voice”… our pets have no choice either but to eat the food put down for them, which normally is not good for them because they thrive on protein (meat) but they are fed carbohydrates (kibble). Google this: “The shocking truth about commercial pet food” and check out the website www.dogfoodadvisor.com for some incredible information and yes the bad food applies to cats.
