Three cheers for R.Roon S.Searcy for the letter on Wednesday, “Show-offs.”

My impression of long and tedious letters is the same.

They do not make much sense, contain factual errors, and are just too wordy. Maybe the authors are trying to impress us little folk with their superior wisdom and command of the English language.

And if the use of little used English words were not enough French or Latin phrases are sometimes thrown in (What the heck is a “point d”appui”?) and why not use English?

I would recommend that the 400 word limit be applied to all letters. Unless, of course, it is a letter explaining an important issue that has serious implications to the community. Please, no more bloviating. By the way, this letter contains 132 words.
