Lockdown
MISS: Middletown schools were placed on lockdown after the Lake County Sheriff”s Office (LCSO) SWAT had a standoff with a man believed to have several firearms Thursday.
HIT: The man gave himself up and there were no reported injuries.
Unidentified man
MISS: A Clearlake man was found dead with no identification. The Clearlake Police Department is asking for assistance in identifying him.
Trailer fire
MISS: A travel trailer was a total loss after a fire occurred just before 9 p.m. Tuesday on Mission Rancheria Road in Lakeport.
HIT: The Lakeport Fire Protection District and the Kelseyville Fire Protection District responded with a total of three engines. Foul play is not suspected and no injuries were reported.
3-D scanner
HIT: The Lake County Board of Supervisors approved the purchase of a 3-D laser scanning system for the District Attorney”s Office Tuesday. The system can record interactive video of a crime scene and measure bullet trajectory.
No contest plea
HIT: A woman suspect in a string of burglaries in Lakeport presented pleas of no contest on two charges of felony burglary and one charge of receiving stolen property Tuesday.
Academic Decathlon
HIT: The Clear Lake High School Academic Decathlon team headed to the California Academic Decathlon State Finals Thursday. The team won at the county/district level in early February.
School Burglary
HIT: A suspect in the burglary of the Lake County International Charter School was extradited from Sonoma County. The Lake County Sheriff”s Office found her player card from Twin Pine Casino at the school, which resulted in the discovery that she was arrested on drug-related charges in Sonoma County.
Thompson visits Kelseyville
HIT: Congressman Mike Thompson (D-St. Helena) visited students at Mountain Vista Middle School to discuss taxes, the national debt, getting bills passed and what his job entails.
