What a sad commentary on the times that our Lake County Board of Supervisors is forced to approve a proposed budget transfer of $180,000 to hire another attorney to handle the number of increased number of felonies that have occurred in Lake County, some with multiple defendants.
These are funds that will be diverted from more worthy and positive issues at a time when our county is hurting from all of its needs and shortages.
Imagine, Lake County has a total of 12 active attempted murder cases.
Is this a sign of the times everywhere or just the luck of the draw for our area?
