FORT BRAGG — The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 88 of Lake County and Flotilla 87 of Mendocino County continued its St. Patrick”s Day tradition of preparing a lunch for the Coast Guard personnel serving at the Noyo Harbor Coast Guard Station in Ft. Bragg on March 19.

Traveling from Lake County were Flotilla 88 members Dan Fish, Bruce Rogerson, Corey Jones, Dane Hayward and Harry and Bunny De Lope. Flotilla 87 member Bob Gerbi joined the group at the station.

Twenty-five chickens were barbecued and served with tossed green salad, potato salad, homemade beans, rolls and butter. Soft drinks and a sheet cake decorated with a photo of a Coast Guard cutter and the words “Thank you for your service” written in green to celebrate the St. Patrick”s Day lunch were provided.

The Coast Guard crew did justice to the enormous amount of food and thanked the flotilla members profusely for the lunch, De Lope stated.

All of the food, soft drinks, plates and serving utensils were donated by the flotillas to show their appreciation to the Coast Guard service personnel for their dedication to serve and protect the country and its citizens, she added.
