LAKE COUNTY — Wave of Hope Project shows will begin traveling around public places in Lake County, looking for the people who need to know that they are not alone. Its outreach trips will include bus stops, pubs, grocery stores, coffee shops, senior centers and store front windows.

The Wave of Hope Project is a traveling exhibition that includes portraits and stories of people who have come through hard times and are happy to be where they are now. It focuses on what they would say to someone who might be standing in the shoes they were once in.

A sense of alienation and loneliness are the front-runners to suicide and with Lake County”s high suicide rate, the project is designed to let people know they are not the only ones who feel the way they do, according to Bunny De Lope.

The project was developed by Sharon Dawson of The Dawson Studios in Middletown and has grown in the last 10 months to include 25 faces and voices of people reaching out.

For information, visit the Wave of Hope Project website at www.thewaveofhope.org or contact Dawson at sharon@awaveofhope.com. Donations to the project can be mailed to: The Wave of Hope, P.O. Box 1411, Middletown CA, 95461.
