The Lake Transit Authority (LTA) will discuss its capitalization policy at its 9 a.m. meeting Wednesday in the Council Chambers at Lakeport City Hall.
Currently the LTA has no written policy to direct methods or criteria for capitalization, according to a staff memorandum. Transit agencies receiving federal funds are required by the Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century Act to have an asset management plan, the first step of which would be implementing a capitalization policy.
Free-of-charge transit passes for volunteers will also be considered by the LTA.
A proposed agreement with People Services, Inc. for the use of four Ford Elkhart coaches will be considered for approval by the LTA.
The LTA, as the Consolidated Transportation Services Agency (CTSA), applied for and received a federal contract, which allows it to purchase vehicles on behalf of nonprofit organizations, according to a staff memorandum. The proposed agreement is necessary to release the four coaches to People Services, Inc.
A proposed nighttime service, which will allow on-call transportation for the greater Lakeport area will also be considered by the LTA.
Transit Manager Mark Wall and Project Manager Wanda Gray will present reports to the LTA. Wall will present the Transit Manager report and Gray will present the Paratransit Services report.
City hall is located at 225 Park St. in Lakeport.
