Staff reports —

The Lakeport City Council (LCC) will consider closing the recreational vehicle (RV) dump station located at Library Park at its 6 p.m. meeting Tuesday in the Council Chambers at Lakeport City Hall.

The potential closure is because of commercial businesses disposing of their wastewater and people filling up water tanks for offsite use on multiple occasions, according to Public Works Director Mark Brannigan. If the station is not closed, hours of operation may be restricted and appropriate signage may be posted.

The council will provide direction regarding an upcoming requirement to redesignate to the Sonoma/Mendocino/Lake counties Recycling Market Development Zone (RMDZ).

An RMDZ designation allows the state to provide resources, such as grants and loans, to businesses within the zone, according to City Engineer Scott Harter. The designation renewal must be completed before Sept. 21.

In other business, the creation of a Parks Maintenance Leadworker position will be considered by the LCC.

According to the job description, the leadworker will oversee the work of crews, investigate complaints related to city parks, perform various maintenance tasks and check on emergency situations.

City Hall is located at 225 Park St. in Lakeport.
