The Middletown Unified School District (MUSD) Board of Trustees is expected to designate May 14 as Day of the Teacher at its 7 p.m. meeting Wednesday in the multi-use room at Cobb Mountain Elementary School.
Additionally, the MUSD board is expected to designate the week of May 18 as Classified School Employee Week.
The District Teacher of the Year will be nominated.
According to MUSD Superintendent Korby Olson, each school selected a candidate. The teacher chosen will compete for Lake County Teacher of the Year.
A resolution regarding specifications of election order and a request for consolidation will be discussed.
The resolution is a requirement any time board members are scheduled to be elected, according to Olson. Three board members will be elected on Nov. 4.
According to the MUSD website, boardmembers Jay Albertson, Lynette Carrillo and Yvette Sloan have reached the end of their four-year terms as boardmembers.
