SACRAMENTO — Betty T. Yee, First District member of the California State Board of Equalization (BOE), on Tuesday introduced OPEN BOE, an open data portal during the board”s Customer and Administrative Efficiency Committee meeting.
The portal consolidates information into one uniform view, with access to information such as sales and use taxes, taxable sales in California and other tax and fee programs, according to Alan LoFaso. Users may view, export, redistribute and republish the information.
“I am very pleased to be one of the first agencies in the state to establish an open data portal,” Yee stated. “It demonstrates our ongoing commitment to transparency and accountability, while improving the taxpayer experience and expanding the availability of public information.”
OPEN BOE is scheduled to launch in early May.
