Whatever happened to ethical politics? Elections should be based on the true measure of the candidate, but as time goes by we have sunk to a cesspool of lies and deception intended to make other candidates look bad.

This very thing is happening in the Lake County Sheriff”s race. Bob Chalk has been running a clean campaign. He has not attacked the other candidates; rather he has relied upon his own experience, ethics, and integrity to win votes.

His competitors, unable to compete with these critical skills, have chosen to attack Bob Chalk personally. I have heard rumors about red-tagged houses, and insinuations that he left Clearlake PD under less than honorable circumstances. These are outright lies intended to cast a shadow of doubt on the only truly qualified candidate for Sheriff.

My question is this: What sort of leader allows this kind of childish and harmful practice under his watch? Do you want a man who will condone such behavior from his officers?

Suppose the shoe was on the other foot, and you were accused wrongly? Is that the sheriff you really want in office?

Everything Bob Chalk has been accused of can be proven wrong, by looking at the records. He should not have to prove his innocence, any more than you or I would if accused. The people who started these rumors are likely past offenders who were unhappy they were arrested. The perpetuators are either ignorant, or they are calculated in their attacks.

Check the facts, and you will discover the best choice for Lake County Sheriff is Bob Chalk.
