LAKEPORT — The Lakeport Senior Activity Center (LSAC) is gearing up for its Hot August Nites dinner dance by holding auditions for 1950s impersonators.
Impersonators can be any personalities from the ?50s, such as James Dean, Ed Sullivan, Wolfman Jack, Ricky and Lucie Arnaz, Brenda Lee, Lawrence Welk or anyone prominent in the 1950s.
“We”re looking for anyone who wants to be Elvis, Marilyn or Buddy Holly for one night in August,” Jonathan Crooks, LSAC director, stated.
Auditions will be held Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at the LSAC.
All contestants must be in costume and bring his or her own music on CD. The center will provide a CD player.
There will be three winners, who have the option to perform or lip sync on stage during the Hot August Nites dinner dance in August. All contestants will be invited to come in costume to the August event.
