I have watched several of the debates for Lake County Sheriff, between Brian Martin, Bob Chalk and Frank Rivero.
At each debate, Sheriff Rivero proudly touts statistics showing the increase in the number of arrests for various crimes in the county. In all instances, he shows the number of arrests for assault, home invasion, possession of marijuana and methamphetamine, and marijuana cultivation have risen significantly under his term. The Sheriff is very proud of those numbers. However, to consider these numbers as positive, you must also acknowledge that department personnel were not working diligently under the previous administration. I don”t believe that to be so. Our department personnel are hard working and professional and are doing the very best job they can.
On the front page of the Record-Bee Thursday is an article about an armed robbery at the pharmacy by Sutter Lakeside Hospital. Really? I personally see the numbers, touted by Sheriff Rivero, as evidence that the instance of crime in the county has risen significantly during his term in office.
Please join me in voting for Brian Martin for Lake County Sheriff and bringing those numbers down!
