The difficulty of disciplining is that man is a feeling creature and feelings are very complex.
Feelings are, for all practical purposes, of unlimited variety; while man tries to fit man into a simply formulated category, many divergent in the same category. Therefore, there is a break in the algo (reasoning procedure) between problem and solution, making them totally unrelated. It”s trying to open a can of sardines with a logical argument; and without restructuring the feelings, prison is just free room and board.
We don”t have time to pet them all, but that”s what it takes. Lots of criminals have friends among the upright and ethical that they wouldn”t steal a hundred-dollar bill from.
