LAKE COUNTY — The East Lake Resource Conservation District (ELRCD) awarded the Frank Meisenbach Scholarship to Deanna Powell, a 2014 graduate of Yuba College, Clear Lake.
The ELRCD Board of Directors established the scholarship in 2012 to honor its longtime President Frank Meisenbach, who died in 2013. It is awarded annually to students residing in the ELRCD who are interested in furthering their education in environmental areas, such as conservation, sustainable agriculture and other related fields.
On May 8, Powell, who is planning on a career in conservation, met with the ELRCD Board of Directors and staff as well as Meisenbach”s widow, Lois, to speak about her educational and career plans and to receive the award.
The scholarship is made possible by donations to the ELRCD, Frank Meisenbach Scholarship fund. Donations may be sent to ELRCD, 889 Lakeport Blvd., Lakeport, CA 95453.
