Lake County is and always has been the best place to live in the whole world. Primarily that is due to its beauty but just as important is the attitude of its residents. Until recently, people were universally kind and patient; slow to anger and quick to forgive.
Maybe it”s an influx of out-of-towners that is the cause but in the past month I”ve seen for the first time something alien to road rage on our streets. Tail-gaiting, pushiness, snarking, etc. If it continues ? and God forbid ? increases this will cease to be the haven we know and love.
If you love Lake County I ask that you take a stand when you witness aggression here. For example wear a pin or bumper sticker which promotes peace and good will. If you catch someone snarking, remind them this isn”t the place for it. Clip the wings of tailgaters by calling them in or slowing down until they stop thrashing. It”s a funny thing to say but peace is worth fighting for. We must insist on it.
