KELSEYVILLE — Stephen G. McQueen, the son of David and Tamah McQueen of Kelseyville and 2010 graduate of Kelseyville High School, has graduated with honors as magna cum laude from California State University, San Francisco with a bachelor of arts degree in history and a minor in military science.

Stephen was commissioned into the U.S. Army with the rank of second lieutenant as an armor officer. His commendations include air assault training in Ft. Benning, Ga.; receiving the Legion of Valor Bronze Cross, which recognizes the top eight Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC) cadets in the nation; being recognized as a distinguished military graduate by the U.S. Army Cadet Command as the top 20-percent of all ROTC cadets across the nation; receiving the American Legion Scholastic Excellence Award, which is presented annually to an outstanding senior cadet for displaying the highest level of scholastic achievement in his class, and receiving the George C. Marshall Award.

Stephen and his wife Molly will be stationed at Ft. Benning, Ga. while he completes an armor basic officer leadership course, an army reconnaissance course, as well as the Pathfinder school course.
