KELSEYVILLE >> The J. Fletcher and Anne A. Elliott Educational Scholarship was awarded last week to Kelseyville High School seniors Preston Griffen and Kyle Schmidt.
The scholarship is $10,000 for each recipient. It was established by the late Anne Elliot with the help of Rian Sommerfield at Nestegg Investment Consulting and was created in memory of her husband, J. Fletcher.
Griffen served as a varsity basketball team captain and Schmidt served as a varsity tennis team captain, according to Rian Sommerfield.
Griffen will attend the University of California, Merced and major in bioengineering. Schmidt will attend Santa Rosa Junior College and plans on transferring to University of California, Los Angeles to study film and digital media, Sommerfield stated.
