LAKEPORT >> The 54th quilt block has been installed on the Lake County Quilt Trail (LCQT) at People Services, Inc.

Ilene Dumont and Michelle Figg teamed up to bring the block titled “Star Cross” to the People Services Inc. location. Figg is honoring the memory of her grandmother, Vera Perkins, and Dumont, who is Figg”s sister-in-law and the director of People Services, wanted her building to be part of the quilt trail.

The clients of People Services Inc. chose their favorite quilt blocks and colors and Figg chose the religious symbol of the star cross because her grandmother was a religious person and loved the color purple.

The LCQT is an agricultural and tourism project designed to promote community pride. The 8-by-8 foot quilt block was drawn and painted by the LCQT team, a group of quilters, graphic artists, painters, writers, carpenters and a videographer.

For information about the LCQT, visit www.lakecountyquilttrail.com or search for Lake County Quilt Trail on Facebook.

The Star Cross quilt block is located at 870 11th St. in Lakeport.
