LAKE COUNTY >> The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) of Clear Lake will offer reduced adoption prices Saturday and Sunday.

All of the new adoptable pets come with their first shots and are already spayed or neutered, according to Brenda Crandall, SPCA of Clear Lake public information officer.

Dogs/puppies will be available for $75 each; cats/kittens will cost $15.

The SPCA of Clear Lake is now open seven days a week, 10 a.m. to 3p.m., Crandall stated.

“If you or a friend have been thinking of getting a pet, the staff and volunteers at the SPCA of Clear Lake would love to see you and assist in helping you pick out just the right cat or dog,” she stated.

An alternative to adoption is to provide a foster home.

“Not only does fostering provide an invaluable service to rescue groups and the shelters that depend on them (not to mention the pets themselves), it”s a great way to learn about your own needs as a pet owner,” Crandall stated.

Additionally, a pet that is fostered gets more one-on-one time outside of the shelter setting, creating a calmer, more socialized animal.

For information, call 279-1400.

The SPCA of Clear Lake is located at 8025 Highway 29 in Kelseyville.
