LAKEPORT >> The 1950s-style Gift and Accessory Shop, a temporary shop created in preparation for the Hot August Nites dinner-dance to be held Aug. 15, will hold its grand opening Tuesday at the Lakeport Senior Activity Center.
The shop will feature poodle skirts, crinolines, scarves, aprons, totes and miscellaneous ”50s wear for men and women, as well as Hot August Nites souvenir glassware, baseball caps, fuzzy dice and jewelry.
“Prices will be very reasonable, with the poodle skirts costing only $10,” Jonelle Sornes, the sales clerk of the shop, stated. “Prices will start at $1 for many items.”
The shop will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. through the night of the dinner-dance.
“There are many one-of-a-kind items, and supplies are limited,” Jonathan Crooks, the senior center”s director, said.
All proceeds from the Gift and Accessory Shop will benefit the Lakeport Senior Activity Center”s Meals-On-Wheels program, which serves the Lakeport, Kelseyville, Soda Bay and Clear Lake Riviera areas.
