Lakeport >> A driver was arrested on DUI charges after a vehicle reportedly landed on its roof at a residence on Sunday.
At about 12:30 a.m. Lakeport Police Department (LPD) officers were dispatched to Martin Street near the intersection of South Forbes Street for reports of a rollover vehicle collision involving a silver Mazda 3 sedan, according to LPD Officer Michael Sobieraj. Initial reports indicated the solo male driver was still inside the vehicle.
LPD officers reportedly arrived and found the solo occupant and driver, Marc David Jacoban Jr., of Lakeport, had extricated himself from the vehicle and was sitting on the curb with signs of injury, Sobieraj stated. Medical personnel from Lakeport Fire Protection District (LFOD) arrived and evaluated Jacoban, 23, finding only minor injuries. LPD Officers determined that Jacoben was impaired and driving under the influence of alcohol, with initial blood alcohol tests reportedly showing he was more than three times the legal limit, Sobieraj stated.
Through the investigation, officers report that Jacoban left the south roadway of Martin Street, struck the curb then went over it and crashed into a stone fence at a residence where the vehicle then flipped over and landed on its roof, Sobieraj stated.
Jacoban was arrested and charged with a DUI, driving with a blood alcohol level greater that .08 percent and vandalism.
