
LAKE COUNTY >> The 59th quilt block “Green Mountain Star” was installed as part as the Lake County Quilt Trail (LCQT) on the new barn at Big Valley Sheep Farm and Ladera Verde Percherons. Keith and Carol Brandt”s barn is used for their Percheron horses and is named Green Hill or Ladera Verde in Spanish.
The barn was built in 2013 when the Brandt”s expanded their farm to include the Percheron horses. It houses a show wagon that is 100 years old that is pulled by the horses.
The LCQT is an agricultural and tourism project designed to promote community pride.
The 4-by-4 quilt block was drawn and painted by the LCQT team, a group of dedicated quilters, graphic artists, painters, writers, carpenters and a videographer.
