LAKEPORT >> Konocti Vista Casino will hold a carnival in its parking lot from 2 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday to celebrate its 20 years of business in the Lake County community.
On Friday starting at 5:30 p.m., celebration ceremonies with native Pomo dancers and a blessing ceremony will be held. Slices of anniversary cake will also be offered and Twice as Good will perform.
Additionally, a $120,000 cash prize and EZ Kash giveaways will be offered at the casino throughout the month of July.
Two decades ago, the casino was only an idea in the minds of a few forward-thinking Big Valley Rancheria tribal members, according to Carol Dellinger, the graphic arts manager of the casino. Today, Konocti Vista Casino is one of the larger employers in the county, employing more than 200 Lake County residents. Konocti Vista Casino has given back more than $20 million through special distribution contributions that purchased ambulances, fire trucks, a rescue boat, road improvements and donations to schools, youth athletic leagues and other charities.
“Konocti Vista Casino is grateful to the Lake County community and would be honored to have you as our guests as we celebrate this momentous milestone,” Big Valley Tribal Chairman Anthony Jack stated.
The carnival will be provided by Schoeppner Carnival Shows.
The casino is located at 2755 Mission Rancheria Road in Lakeport.
