KELSEYVILLE >> A horseshoe tournament fundraiser takes place Saturday beginning at 9 a.m. at Highland Springs Park. All proceeds benefits the Kelseyville Chiefs football and cheerleading programs.
The cost is $20 per person. Cash prizes will be awarded to the first- and second-place teams. All ages are welcome to participate.

Volleyball camp
The annual Sonoma State University/Kelseyville High School Volleyball Camp takes place July 28-31 at the Kelseyville High School gym.
Camp A is for girls entering the fifth through eighth grades in the upcoming school year. Check-in time is 9:15 a.m. and camp hours are 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. each of the four days of the camp. If you sign up by Tuesday you pay only $90.
Camp B is for girls entering the ninth through 12th grades in the upcoming school year. It is split between a morning session (9 a.m. to 11 a.m.) and an afternoon session (2 p.m. to 4 p.m.) each of the four days of the camp. Check-in time is 8:45 a.m. for the morning session and 1:45 p.m. for the afternoon session. The cost is $110 if you sign up before Tuesday or $120 after Tuesday.
The camp staff includes Sonoma State University head coach Bear Grassl and the Kelseyville High School coaching staff. Overhead and underhand passing, spiking, blocking, serving, individual and team offensive and defensive formations will be covered.

Tennis camp
Quail Run Fitness Center in Lakeport is offering a series of tennis camps for boys and girls ages 5-18. The seventh in a series of eight camps opens Monday and runs through July 24.
The Tiny Tots camp (ages 5-8) costs $35 and meets 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. each day. Players will develop hand-eye coordination as well as basic ball and racquet handling skills while beginning to hit and play right away.
The Junior Aces camp (ages 9-12) costs $45 and meets from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. each day. The focus is on basic skills, rules and strategy of the game.
The Junior Excellence camp (ages 13-18) costs $65 and meets from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each day. Junior high and high school players of all levels will learn match play strategies and tactics for singles and doubles play.
Payment is due on the first day of camp. Wear comfortable shoes and loose clothing and bring a water bottle. Racquets are available to borrow or purchase.

Watermelon Run
The inaugural Upper Lake Watermelon Run 5K takes place Aug. 3 beginning at 8:30 a.m. at Upper Lake High School.
There is a $25 race fee and a $2.50 sign-up fee. Registration closes Aug. 1.
The 5K run/walk takes place on a flat and accurately measured course comprised of dirt, grass and a little pavement and consists of two laps around school grounds.
Custom-designed T-shirts go to the first 100 registered runners. Awards will be presented to the top three in all age groups.
Proceeds benefit Upper Lake High School”s cross country program.

Volleyball camp
The annual Spikers Volleyball Camp will be held Aug. 4-7 at Mendocino College in Ukiah.
The general skills camp for girls is open to all players regardless of experience or skill level. The morning session is designed for girls going into grades five through eight and takes place from 9 a.m. to noon each of the four days of the camp. The afternoon camp, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., is designed for high school-age girls. The cost is $90, which includes a camp T-shirt, and checks should be made payable to MLVBC.
Players will have fun learning fundamentals through engaging drills and competitive games. There will be an emphasis on teamwork, positive attitude and sportsmanship. The camp director is Ori Polkinghorne, the head coach at Ukiah High School. He will be assisted by area coaches as well as former and current players.

Soccer camp
The Clear Lake High School varsity girls” soccer team will be hosting its 17th annual soccer camp for boys and girls ages 5-14 of all ability levels on Aug. 4-7 on the fields behind the Clear Lake High School gym in Lakeport.
Four-year-olds will be accepted on parental request.
Camp hours each day are 9 a.m. until noon. The $60 registration fee includes a T-shirt. A family discount of $5 per camper is also available if two or more campers register from the same family. An early bird discount is available for campers who register in the Lakeport Unified School District office before the first day of camp.
Camp instruction is provided by Clear Lake varsity coaches Alice Holmes and Paul Larrea and junior varsity coach Tommy Burke. They will be assisted by guest coaches and members of the Clear Lake girls” soccer team.
The camp will emphasize basic soccer skills, offensive/defensive play and team concepts. For younger players it is a great opportunity to learn basic soccer skills and develop a positive attitude toward the sport. There will be various contests, individual awards, snacks and game play each day.
Registration forms are available in the district office located at 250 Howard St., across the street form bus barn and Cardinal Stadium. Campers may also register the first day of camp.
