Will never serve on jury again
I recently turned 62 years old and served one-and-three-quarter days of Jury Duty last July or Aug. 2013. I never got paid and I”ve attempted to be paid.
My wallet was stolen on my birthday last May 30 or 31 this year, so I no longer have my jury service card.
I know that Lake County is broke. So am I and had to pay to replace my driver”s license and all my identifications.
I”ve reported the loss to Lakeport Police Department and no one was arrested.
I know that you only get paid if you do more than one day and I served two. A rape trial.
Even though its only $15, I live on Social Security and recently moved to senior housing.
I could have gotten a medical waver but didn”t. I wanted to serve and intentionally did not take pain medicines those two days.
Do you not get paid for most of the second day? That”s not fair. I called the Jury Commissioner and got a new employee. I used to work for San Diego County but have lived in Lakeport for 11 years.
I”ll never do jury service again. And I vote.
