UKIAH >> The Redwood Empire Fair will be held July 31 through Aug. 2 with the theme of an Ocean Adventure at the Redwood Empire Fairgrounds.
The fair will feature hands-on exhibits of stingrays, crabs and other exotic sea life with experts on hand to answer attendees” questions, a wild animal exhibit specializing in rescued animals and a petting zoo that will include piano playing miniature pigs. Arts and crafts and motorsports, including truck and tractor pulls, monster trucks, Mudd Boggs, auto races and boat races, will be part of the event.
Carnival rides provided by Butler Amusements and refreshments will also be offered. Live entertainment for the fair will include Tamberlyn, The Funky Dozen, II Big, Fact Chance Truckin” Band and the Banda Duvalines Musical, in addition to a karaoke station for attendees to sing.
Pre-sale tickets cost $8 for adults and $5 for children between the ages of 6 and 12 and $5 for seniors 65 and older. Parking will cost $7. Pre-sale carnival wristband tickets are on sale at multiple locations throughout Ukiah and Willits.
On July 31, children 12 and younger and seniors 65 and older will be admitted free-of-charge between 3 and 6 p.m.
