Kelseyville >> The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) of Clear Lake held an open house on Sunday, its first since the election of an entire new board of directors in May.

Members of the public were welcomed with refreshments and a variety of snacks as they took guided tours of the facility, according to Brenda Crandall, public information officer and SPCA board secretary. Dr. Glenn Benjamin DVM, the interim executive director, as well as each of the directors of the board were on scene to answer questions about the facility, future plans and all of the programs taking place at the SPCA.

“Of course the dogs, cats, kittens and puppies were also available, and some found new homes,” Crandall stated. “Several new volunteers signed up to help enrich the lives of the animals while in the care of the SPCA, and the Adopt a Brick program gained several new sponsors.”

To volunteer, contribute, or learn more about the SPCA of Clear Lake call 279-1400, or visit the office at 8025 Highway 29 in Kelseyville Monday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
