KELSEYVILLE >> The Clear Lake State Park Interpretive Association (CLSPIA), also known as the Friends of Clear Lake State Park, will host a celebration in honor of the 150th birthday of the state park system on Aug. 23 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Admission to the park will be free-of-charge for the event.

“If visiting this jewel of Lake County that is right in our midst has been on your list of things to do, Aug. 23 is your chance,” Jennifer Ayala stated.

This will be a family-oriented event, with the opportunity to go on a self-guided nature walk, spend time in the visitor center filled with Lake County history, browse the booths set up with health and wellness information or bring in a picnic to eat lunch under the trees. There will be free-of-charge s”mores, fruit, water and lemonade furnished by the Friends of Clear Lake State Park.
