LAKE COUNTY >> The Lake County Rodeo Association presented a donation of $375 to the California Highway Patrol (CHP) Explorer Post 151 on Wednesday for the officers” assistance in setting up and taking down the rodeo”s arena.

The money will be used for travel expenses as the post heads to Paso Robles Sept. 19 to compete at the Statewide Explorer Competition, according to officer Kory Reynolds of CHP.

CHP Explorer Posts are recognized nonprofit organizations that provide mentoring, training and experience for youths interested in a law enforcement career. Posts do not receive money from the CHP and must be financially self-sufficient by fundraising and receiving donations from the community the post serves.

People interested in donating to Explorer Post 151, contact Reynolds at 279-0103.
