LOWER LAKE >> A reception will be held for the 21st Annual Quilt and Textile Exhibition on Saturday in the Weaver Auditorium of the Lower Lake Schoolhouse Museum.
The free-of-charge reception will take place from noon to 2 p.m. Attendees will get the chance to meet the artists and see the spinning and weaving demonstrations that will “delight and educate adults and children about textile arts,” according to Sheila O”Hara.
The featured artists include members of the Ladies of the Lake Quilt Guild, weaver O”Hara and her weaving class students: Janis Eckert, Pam Perry, Suzanne Britz, Ellen Hardenburger, Sylvia Anderson, Hana Musgrove, Lorna Rochman-McEntire, Goldie Pitre, Shellie Taylor and Rosalee Littrell, as well as quilter Mary Marion.
Works include quilts, weavings, tapestries and hand knitted and hand crocheted items from handspun yarn. The items range from soft and subtle pastels to bold colors and textures, O”Hara stated.
The exhibition, hosted by the Lower Lake Historic School Preservation Committee, opened on Aug. 2 and will run through Aug. 30. Museum hours are Wednesday through Saturday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
