LAKEPORT >> The fourth annual Cardinal Sports Night, a fundraiser for Clear Lake High School sports, takes place Sept. 6 in Phil Lewis Hall at the Lake County Fairgrounds in Lakeport.
Sponsored by the CLHS Sports Foundation, Cardinal Sports Night gets underway at 6 p.m. It will be a fun-filled night of games and music. A barbecue dinner will be provided courtesy of the Lakeport Fire Department.
Both silent and live auctions will take place along with a basket raffle. Also back this year is the coaches competition. The golf team and coach Juan Lopez will be back to defend their 2013 title.
Tickets for adults are $25 if purchased in advance at Strong Financial Network, Linda”s Hallmark or Plaza Paints, or you can pay $30 at the door. Students pay $15 and children younger than 5 are free. You can reserve tables for eight for $500, which gets you prime seating for the coaches competition as well as complimentary beer and wine at your table.
All proceeds are invested back into Clear Lake High”s sports programs.
The CLHS Sports Foundation has provided nearly $80,000 of support to the school”s athletic programs in the past three years.
Businesses or individuals interested in sponsoring a banner that will be displayed on the fence circling the football field still have time to do so.

Several of Clear Lake”s fall sports teams will be in action before the end of the month. Football opens Aug. 29 at home against South Fork, the debut of new varsity coach Darin Brodnansky. Boys” soccer opens Aug. 26 against Anderson Valley in Boonville while girls” soccer opens Aug. 27 in Calistoga.
