NICE >> Methamphetamine and metal knuckles were seized during an arrest Saturday night.

At approximately 6:30 p.m., an unnamed patrol deputy was driving eastbound on Highway 20 in Nice when he allegedly noticed a motorcycle traveling on Stokes Avenue toward the Highway 20 intersection that did not stop at the posted stop sign. The motorcyclist pulled out into the eastbound traffic of Highway 20, according to Lt. Steve Brooks, Lake County Sheriff”s Office (LCSO) public information officer.

The driver in front of the patrol vehicle reportedly had to apply his brakes with significant force to avoid a collision. The motorcycle rider then allegedly pulled into a designated turn lane where he sped up, passing four vehicles also in the turn lane.

The deputy conducted an enforcement stop near Highway 20 and Collier Avenue in Nice, Brooks stated. The rider was identified as Theodore Anthony Jones of Lakeport.

The deputy proceeded to search the vehicle after Jones, 46, denied his request, Brooks stated. During the search, the deputy allegedly found a small amount of marijuana, 8.76 grams of what appeared to be methamphetamine and metal knuckles. All of the aforementioned items were seized as evidence.

Jones was arrested and charged with reckless driving, possession of a controlled substance and possession of metal knuckles. He was booked at the Lake County Hill Road Correctional Facility.
