The LCBH encourages anyone to contact their 24-hour crisis hotline at 1-800-900-2075 if they know of someone who is actively suicidal.
Through Each Mind Matters: California”s Mental Health Movement, organizations are working to eliminate the stigma around mental illness and empower Californians with the knowledge to recognize the warning signs of suicide and to intervene to save a life, according to Fara Izadi, prevention specialist for LCBH.
Every county has the resources to support people experiencing thoughts of suicide. Visit www.suicideispreventable.org from anywhere in California to learn how to support others who may be experiencing thoughts of suicide, and find local resources such as crisis hotlines and support groups that can provide care, Izadi stated.
