CLEARLAKE >> The Lake County Office of Education (LCOE) has announced that it has been approved by the California Department of Public Health to offer continuing education units (CEUs) for certified nurse assistants and home health aides.
The Clearlake office will start offering courses in two-hour increments beginning in November. The cost is $15 per unit, which is payable at the time of registration by check, cash or credit card. Participants must register at least two days in advance of the training. Home health aides and certified nurse assistants must have 48 hours of CEUs to renew their license. They must earn a minimum of 12 units their first year and can earn no more than 36 units in that same year.
Courses will continue to be added to the database. Input as to what is relevant and needed in the industry is always welcome, Tammy Serpa of LCOE stated.
For a schedule of classes or to register, visit the Career Technical Education section of the LCOE website at lakecoe.org. For information, contact Serpa at 994-9001.
