LAKEPORT >> The Main Street Gallery is hosting its First Friday Fling tonight from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
Attendees will have the chance to meet the artist and drink wines of Laujor Estate. Saro and Reikor Beacon will play on harp and guitar.
The gallery will feature new work from three artists: Judy Cardinale”s wildlife and landscapes in oils; Susan Johnson, a student of the R. Seisser School of Art, will show her work in pastels for the first time and Stephen Rotter will display a sculpture and a collection of his oil paintings, according to Sherry Harris.
Continuing in the gallery are Jo Bergeson with oils in a variety of subject matter; Terry Durnil with paintings that capture the heart of the Western landscape and its people in pastels and acrylics and Jack Southwick, who works in expressive acrylic paintings, Harris stated.
Also continuing in the September show are Linda Becker with detailed work of birds and portraits in colored pencil, Linda Kelly”s and Leah Adams” gourd collection, Ray Farrow”s colored work in alkyds, Dennis Robison”s mix of subject matter in pastels, while Evelyn Robinson”s pastel work features animal portraits and Bruce Vandraiss demonstrates his style of work, also in pastels. Rounding out the show are the fine drawings and paintings and three-dimensional art of Peter Shandera.
In the Linda Carpenter Student Gallery is Savannah Molloy, a sophomore at Kelseyville High School and a student of Richard Seisser”s Tuesday pastel class. She has been painting during her summer vacations from school for four years. She will show much of her work over that period, along with the first paintings she did the first class she attended.
She has progressed where she paints on her own most of the time with little assistance from her instructor, Harris said. She plans an art career upon graduation from high school.
