CLEARLAKE >> Officers arrested two people on various charges after allegedly discovering multiple drugs, including several ounces of methamphetamine, on Friday. At about 6:27 p.m., the Clearlake Police Department (CPD) received a report of a young child stating he could not wake his mother and that she was bleeding, according to Sgt. Nick Bennett.

Three officers responded. They reached the Ridgelake Apartments, located at 3810 Old Highway 53, and made contact with 33-year-old Clearlake resident Dawn Kocher and 34-year-old James Tully, who had recently moved to the Clearlake area, Bennett stated.

It was ascertained there was no injured person at the address.

However, during the welfare investigation into a possible injured female, officers allegedly saw methamphetamine plain view, as well drug paraphernalia. Clearlake detectives were notified and a search warrant was obtained, Bennett stated.

Subsequent to a search of the apartment, officers allegedly discovered several ounces of additional methamphetamine and concentrated cannabis in addition to items which indicated the occupants of the apartment possessed the methamphetamine and concentrated cannabis for sales, Bennett stated.

Both Kocher and Tully were booked into Lake County Hill Road Correctional Facility on drug related charges including possession of narcotics for sale and child cruelty. An infant in the residence was released to a responsible relative and Child Protective Services were notified.

Anyone with any information on this incident is encouraged to contact the CPD at 994-8251 ext. 511.
