We in this county pay our peace officers to keep the peace and to keep us safe from harm to travel freely up and down our highways, byways and back roads which there are many and I imagine most will agree that they do a fine job. We travel with our children our extended family member”s and friends. We travel safely to the many markets for our food and beverage. We don”t want, need or expect to be pulled over, searched or asked can we search your car with the county K-9.
Our safety is of the upmost importance to all of us not just some of us. At the end of the day we all want and need to return to our homes safely unharmed, whether we arrive home to pop open a bottle of 1969 chardonnay or roll up a fat one and burn it or in some cases “pop n burn.” And for that we can be thankful to our county peacekeepers for keeping our highway safe.
It”s not as much as a right but more that we pay for the county to provide a service. But once we are in our homes we are mostly protecting ourselves and our families from most usual intrusions, salesperson or the occasional skunk, and this is the most we expect. But the last thing we all expect, want, need is a helicopter hovering over our private land or drones or county cars arriving unannounced with unidentified men with weapons, when we are trying to live freely and care and protect our families.
Now some family”s puff and some sip and all pay taxes and vote so we all imagine we should receive equal protection. Now I for one puff cigarettes and I sip lemonade and pay taxes and vote and abide by the constitutional law. The last thing I need is someone coming on my property carrying loaded gun. Yes, I am scared of guns for only one reason, you cannot recall a bullet. And yes my property was invaded and this all happened on my property that I had owned and paid taxes and purchased in 1987.
The people of America don”t pay taxes to feel fear inside their homes with their families. Whether you sip or puff you should peacefully feel safe and equally protected from harm and danger.
