MIDDLETOWN >> A federal search warrant was served at a home on Main Street on Sept. 9 and allegedly led officers to three pounds of methamphetamine. The seizure and arrests were the culmination of a six-month joint investigation between federal and county law enforcement.
At about 10:30 a.m., Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) agents and members of the Lake County Sheriff”s Office (LCSO) Narcotics Task Force served the warrant at a property in the 1500 block of Main Street in Middletown, according to LCSO Lt. Steve Brooks, public information officer. The methamphetamine was reportedly found during the search and Hugoberto Quintanilla, of Santa Rosa, was arrested.
The federal search and arrest warrants were related to the importation and trafficking of methamphetamine into Lake County, Brooks stated. One additional suspect was arrested during the service of search warrants in Santa Rosa and Petaluma.
Quintanilla, 34, was charged with possession and distribution of methamphetamine and later transported to a federal holding facility in San Francisco.
