KELSEYVILLE >> A fundraiser to assist the family of Forrest Seagrave with the expenses to attend the trial of the suspect charged with Seagrave”s murder will be held on Oct. 2 at Moore Family Winery.
Jonathan Antonio Mota is accused of shooting Seagrave and causing his death the night of Jan. 18, 2013, while he allegedly robbed the Mt. Konocti 76 Station Store 24 in Kelseyville.
The trial, which was previously scheduled for Oct. 6, was moved to April 13. It is being held in San Francisco and the trial is expected to last about two months, according to Seagrave”s brother, Nick Wainwright.
“My family will be out of work for the duration of the trial,” Wainwright stated. “We will still have to keep our regular bills paid, and we still have to figure out getting back and forth everyday, staying down there at least part of the time.”
The fundraiser will include music by David Neft, a barbecue dinner prepared by Sheriff-elect Brian Martin and District 5 Supervisor Rob Brown, as well as a live auction.
The event will begin at 5 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6 p.m. Tickets cost $50 and will include a complimentary glass of wine. Seating is limited.
