LAKEPORT >> Students in grades seven through 12 in Lake and Mendocino counties are invited to attend a My Future, My Way Workshop geared at college and career awareness on Oct. 4 at Mendocino College.
The workshop will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Students will attend a variety of hands-on sessions that allow them to explore careers such as culinary, music, criminal justice and chemistry. These sessions will be taught by Mendocino College instructors and will expose students to career opportunities. Additional sessions will address personal finance and how to take college classes free-of-charge.
Students will also participate in a healthy body, healthy mind activity where they will choose from several physical activities. Information on career exploration and scholarships for all ages will be presented. Lunch and snacks will be provided.
This workshop is offered free-of-charge to students and is funded through Mendocino College and the Lake County Office of Education Career and College Readiness Department.
