MIDDLETOWN >> Middletown”s defense made sure that homecoming 2014 would be a happy occasion as the Mustangs systematically went about dissecting the Willits Wolverines 54-6 on Friday night in the North Central League I opener for both of these varsity football teams at Bill Foltmer Field.

Wyatt Hall rushed for 243 yards and three touchdowns as Middletown improved to 3-1 on the season while dropping Willits to 2-2.

“It was a pretty clean game for us,” Middletown coach Bill Foltmer said. “We didn”t have penalties or turnovers. This is a good win for us as we get into the heart of our league schedule.” Middletown led 14-0 after one quarter and 34-0 at halftime. The Mustangs continued to add to their lead, going up 47-0 before Willits scored on a 65-yard kickoff return.

The game finished under a running clock.

Hall gained 70 of his yards and scoring his first touchdown on the first play from scrimmage.
