CLEARLAKE >> The Clearlake Police Department (CPD) is in the process of updating its Business Emergency Contact Files within the city.
Clearlake Police Volunteers are contacting businesses and obtaining current names and numbers should the department need to make contact with a business owner or representative during evening hours or weekends.
The volunteers who are making contact at the businesses will be doing so during normal work hours and will be dressed in a Clearlake Police Volunteer uniform and driving a vehicle marked “Volunteers in Policing.”
Should any business have any question concerning the identity of the person asking for this type of information, call the CPD at 994-8251.
